About Us

Type - Rent a Rose is a woman-owned small business located in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Our customers are based mostly in Edmonton. That being said, many of our customers take our rented florals to destination weddings in Jasper, Calgary, Canmore and Banff. We have even had a customer take our rented florals to Mexico.

Mission - To provide a disruptive alternative to fresh flowers, offering better prices, wider selection, reliable quality, and green sourcing.

Business Summary - Rent A Rose is a premium rent and return faux flower business that offers dramatic benefits over fresh cut flowers. First, there are no surprises or substitutions due to weather. What you see and choose on our website is exactly what you will enjoy during your event, without fear of wilting or drooping. They are also environmentally friendly, that is, without the inefficient sourcing issues and appalling waste of one-time use.  Faux flowers are also hypoallergenic, removing that fear from the planner’s checklist.  Best of all, we are not constrained by seasonal availabilities, so we are able to design our unique, visually stunning creations for half the cost of fresh cut florals. As such, we have created “collections” that provide options to fulfill your vision and build your desired mood, be that elegant, subdued, whimsical, or dramatic.

Our Ethos -We create each arrangement with care, keeping true to our focus on fun, happiness and joy. We pledge also to provide excellence in all that we do. Our florals are meticulously chosen, tested, and sourced for their quality and beauty. Our customer-focused team is committed to making your event successful and stress free. We will help wherever we can so you can focus on other aspects and, hopefully, have a great time in the process. Check out our design and and onsite set up services.

Meet the Founder - Laurie Phipps has enjoyed a successful, multi-phase career working with project planning, design concepts, and colour in multiple mediums.  After completing her BFA in design at the University of Alberta, she worked for several years as an art director at an advertising agency, while also exhibiting and selling her paintings in galleries in B.C. She transitioned into sales marketing and project management at a fortune 500 company where she became adept at keeping multiple initiatives on time and on budget. Now she is thrilled to bring these skills to the success and growth of Rent a Rose, what she views as a “disruptor” to the antiquated world of floral designs for the event industry. Besides the practical advantages of resilient, diverse, all-season silk flowers, she loves the aesthetic possibilities and pleasures of creating new and exciting designs for her clients.
